Arrangements for the Principal Seat at Madras - Notified.

It is hereby notified that the Summer Vacation for the year 2009,
for the High Court, Madras will be from Thursday, the 1st May 2009 to
Sunday, the 7th June 2009 (both days inclusive).
The period of Summer Vacation for this year is split into three
parts for the purpose of vacation Court sitting arrangements, as follows :-
I PART : Friday, the 1st May 2009 to
Sunday, the 17th May 2009
II PART : Monday, the 18th May 2009 to
Sunday, the 31st May 2009
III PART : Monday, the 1st June 2009 to
Sunday, the 7th June 2009
I - PART

Hon'ble Thiru Justice P.Jyothimani and Hon'ble Thiru Justice
C.T.Selvam and Hon'ble Thiru Justice T.S.Sivagnanam will be the Vacation
Judges for the I part of the Vacation. Hon'ble Thiru Justice P. Jyothimani
and Hon'ble Thiru Justice am will first sit in a Division Bench at 10.30 A.M
on the dates mentioned below unless and otherwise notified for other days
also, for the disposal of very urgent Bench matters. After the Division
Bench work, Their Lordships will sit single on the said days and if
necessary, for other days also, to hear and dispose of urgent matters.
Hon'ble Thiru Justice C.T. Selvam will sit single at 10.30 A.M on the dates
mentioned below unless and otherwise notified for other days also, for the
disposal of very urgent matters. The details of work allotment are as
follows:-

C.S.Karnan and Hon'ble Thiru Justice M.M.Sundresh will be the Vacation
Judges for the II part of the Vacation. Hon'ble Thiru Justice V.Dhanapalan
and Hon'ble Thiru Justice sh will first sit in a Division Bench at 10.30 A.M
on the dates mentioned below unless and otherwise notified for other days
also, for the disposal of very urgent Bench matters. After the Division
Bench work, Their Lordships will sit single on the said days and if
necessary, for other days also, to hear and dispose of urgent matters.

C.S.Karnan and Hon'ble Thiru Justice N.Kirubakaran will be the Vacation
Judges for the III part of the Vacation. Hon'ble Thiru Justice
R.S.Ramanathan and Hon'ble Thiru Jus ubakaran will first sit in a Division
Bench at 10.30 A.M on the date mentioned below unless and otherwise notified
for other days also, for the disposal of very urgent Bench matters. After
the Division Bench work, Their Lordships will sit single on the said day and
if necessary, for other days also, to hear and dispose of urgent matters.
Hon'ble Thiru Justice C.S. Karnan will sit single at 10.30 A.M on the dates

No plaint or appeal or other proceedings will be received during the
said period unless it is accompanied by an application showing the urgency
for an order to receive.
In any case of great urgency, applications may be made by delivering
to the Vacation Officers with a request to transmit the necessary papers to
the Hon'ble Vacation Judge concerned and the Vacation Officers shall, if
they consider the case as of the sufficient urgency, arrange for the
transmission of the necessary papers and the case will be heard according to
the directions of the Hon'ble Vacation Judge concerned either at the Court
or at the Hon'ble Judge's residence on the next day at 10.30 A.M unless it
is a holiday for the High Court, or such other convenient time which will be
communicated to the practitioners.
No application should be presented at the residence of the Hon'ble
Vacation Judges under any circumstances. In Bail Petitions, orders passed
by the Court below should be enclosed along with the petitions. The Hon'ble
Vacation Judges will sit in t cation Court from 10.30 A.M to 4.45 P.M. No
lunch motion should be entertained during the Summer Vacation.
The application for the issue of certified or carbon copies of the
orders and the Process Fees for the issue of Notice etc., should be
presented to the Vacation Officer concerned and after obtaining the orders
of the Vacation Officer, may be filed e Office.
Notice of any application of urgent matters will have to be given
along with papers to the Vacation Officers before 1.30 P.M on the following
dates:

The Registry will work from 10.00 A.M to 4.45 P.M on all days during
Summer Vacation 2009, except on the Court sitting days on which days the
working hours will be from 10.00 A.M to 5.45 P.M or till the Court work is
over, whichever is later.
Notification regarding the Summer Vacation 2009 for the Madurai
Bench of Madras High Court will be issued separately by the Registrar
(Admn.) of Madurai Bench.
